fu sion (fyoo-zhun n)
1. a thermonuclear reaction in which nuclei of light atoms join to form nuclei of heavier atoms, as the combination of deuterium atoms to form helium atoms.

While fusion has the spotlight as a world supply energy source with little little to no hazardous waste materials it still has not been proven viable and may not for the next fifty years. In the mean time, the race is on to prove we can find alternative fuel sources that bring us closer to neutral environmental impact than fossil fuels. Here are some facts about our present day fuels and new ideas that might be the shining light of future fuels.
